Dan Henderson wrestled at Arizona State University,
after graduation he competed internationally for the United States
in Greco roman wrestling competitions.
Henderson
started in the UFC, winning both his bouts at UFC
17 in 1998. Henderson then
turned his attention to international MMA organizations, fighting in
the Japanese RINGS, and then the PRIDE FC where Dan won the PRIDE Welterweight
Championship as well as the Middleweight Championship.
Dan Henderson has fought most of the
elite fighters in the world of international MMA, including wins against
Wanderlei
Silva, Vitor Belfort, Kazuo Misaki,
Murilo Bustamante, Yuki Kondo, Kazuhiro Nakamura, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira,
Murilo Rua, Renato Sobral, Gilbert Yvel and Carlos Newton.
Henderson's UFC
re-debut was at UFC 75 against Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton Jackson
for the unification of the PRIDE and UFC Championship belts,
where he lost via unanimous decision.

was unexpectably choked out by Silva in the second round.
